Friends, can you help?

We have been contacted by someone who is trying to find some 'care at home' support for her elderly father.

Do you know someone in your network who is a professional carer? Or do you know someone with contacts in the local care sector?

If you do, please can you email details to hello@gwfriends.org or via Messenger and we will pass on. Any help, however small, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

In 2019, a number of community fundraisers took place which enabled the purchase and installation of a war memorial in the village, something which had been sadly lacking.

However, there was insufficient money to pay for the cost of painting the lettering and numbering and Covid meant no further fundraisers could take place..until now!

A music night took place on September 3rd and there was sufficient money left over to complete the work. We think you will agree that the finished war memorial is a fitting tribute to those members of our community who died for their country during the First World War.

Thank you to Chris Bryce for the words and images, and for completing this fitting tribute!

The Big Barn at Rose’s Bower was bouncing to the sound of the very talented Russ Tippins last night! Thanks to Chris Bryce for organising a great night and Paul Campbell for donating the venue.

It was great, not just to see so many friendly faces together, but also some pretty nifty moves on the dance floor!! 🕺🏼💃🏼

Sorry to have to raise this but … some dog owners are not clearing up after their pets and leaving dog poo on the grassed areas around the village. This irresponsible anti-social practice is potentially dangerous to the health of children, and highly unpleasant for the people who cut the grass in the village. While most dog owners are caring, responsible individuals, there are still some people who do not clean up after their pets. Anyone who fails to clear up after their dog can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of up to £100. If the case goes to court this could cost the owner or person in charge of the animal up to £1,000. ... See moreSee less
